The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The latest Far Cry game that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in violence and madness with the same glee, all while presenting captivating, socially charged tales. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose projects have embodied all of those elements.
About the Series
Based on Ubisoft's successful video game series, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' format by introducing a fresh location and ensemble in each season.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”
Upcoming Developments
Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.
“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their steady belief and assistance.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology show. Each game is a variation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can evolve from year to year, while always delving into the essence of humanity through this complex and chaotic perspective, is a dream come true. I’m excited to work with Rob and bring our mutual irreverent, visionary approach to the audience.”
A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
