The President Calls Loved Ones of Attacked Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence
President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.
He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on Wednesday in DC.
Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Memorials across the state have occurred in their honor.

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump addressed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community members came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both the soldiers had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to aid public safety in the capital.

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She carried herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the leader of her previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always willing to support those in need.”
Service plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.
The tragedy prompted the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and halt granting visas to possessors of Afghan passports.
Condition of Wolfe
The airman, a native of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the news agency.
He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey said on a news program.
Attorney general Pam Bondi informed a news show that she also intended to meet with the family.

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, according to the state guard.
“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
