Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a former physician has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

The Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
