History of Assaults

Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military commanders have been targeted within Moscow.

This new event comes after other high-profile incidents, for instance:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a automobile blast in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a bomb concealed on a scooter was detonated remotely.

While a informant earlier attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such claims are rarely formally acknowledged as a matter of standard practice.

The war has increasingly seen clandestine operations moving into the center of the Russian capital.

The investigation into General Sarvarov's death remains ongoing.
