A senior Russian military figure has been declared dead following an explosion in Moscow, according to official statements.
The attack took place on Monday morning when an explosive device concealed beneath a vehicle detonated, resulting in the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.
Sarvarov was the head of the armed forces' unit responsible for operational readiness.
The committee mentioned that one theory under investigation points to the alleged involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services. To date, Ukraine has offered no public response.
